UNC to host the 41st WCC Award Ceremony

The Albert Einstein World Award of Science 2026

The National University of Córdoba (Universidad Nacional de Córdoba – UNC) has been Entrusted with organising this prestigious international academic and scientific event, with the support of the provincial government via the ProCórdoba Agency. The event will honour the world’s most distinguished scientists and recognise their contributions to advancing knowledge, innovation and social impact.

Rector Jhon Boretto and Esteban Meszaros, Executive Director of the World Cultural Council (WCC), jointly announced that the National University of Córdoba (UNC) will host the 41st World Cultural Council Awards Ceremony – the Albert Einstein Award 2026 – in November 2026. The event will be supported by the provincial government through the ProCórdoba Agency.

Boretto was accompanied by Vice-Rector Mariela Marchisio and Santiago Palma, the Secretary of Innovation and Technological Linkages. Meszaros was joined by the Mexican Consul in Córdoba, Alejandro Pedrosa, and Manuel Montoya, advisor and General Director of the Nuevo León Automotive Cluster. Also participating in the meeting were the head of the ProCórdoba Agency, Pablo De Chiara, and the vice-president of the Córdoba Automotive Cluster, Milagros Isaia.

The Albert Einstein World Award of Science honours scientists whose research has made outstanding contributions to fields such as the life sciences, neurosciences, earth sciences, biology, biochemistry, medicine, chemistry, physics, mathematics and astronomy. Winners receive a diploma, a commemorative medal and a cash prize following evaluation by an interdisciplinary jury of scientists from five continents.

Keynote lectures and recognition of young researchers

A series of keynote lectures will be given by the award winners and WCC authorities prior to the ceremony. These lectures are aimed at the academic, scientific and student communities. These activities will offer a unique opportunity to meet high-level international leaders in person.

Additionally, the UNC will be able to nominate five to ten young Argentinian researchers who have had outstanding careers in science and education. These researchers will be recognised by the World Cultural Council during the ceremony and will receive an honorary diploma.
