The World Cultural Council presented the 2004 "JOSE VASCONCELOS" World Award of Education to Sir David Attenborough, distinguished British naturalist, filmmaker, television producer and author. The Award Ceremony took place in Liège, Belgium with the host of the University of Liège, on November 8th 2004.

VASCONCELOS" World Award for Education to Prof. Jeannie
Oakes, Presidential Professor in Education and Associate
Dean in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies
at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA. The Award
Ceremony took place in Dublin, Ireland, with the host being Trinity
College of the University of Dublin.
