Dr. Vinciane Despret
Université de Liège 
Born in Anderlecht, Vinciane Despret was brought up in Liège, where she still lives. She specialized in human psychology and ethology, the study of animal behaviour, with a particular interest in humans who work with animals.
A prolific writer of articles and conference papers, Vinciane Despret was recently responsible for commissioning the huge exhibition ‘Bêtes et hommes’ at the Grande Halle de La Villette in Paris.
Vinciane has also been awarded two prizes: the prize for scientific humanities, granted by ‘Sciences Po’ in Paris in September 2008, and the Wernaers International Fund prize for research and the dissemination of knowledge. |
