It was Steven who discovered that Rom Houben, in an apparent coma for 23 years, was actually fully conscious and helped release him from his inability to communicate with the outside world, a case which is now breaking news and making science rethink its assessment of coma states.
The winner of numerous scientific prizes and a prolific author, Laureys is assuredly one of the world’s foremost specialists in altered states of consciousness. |
