Patrick Davin
Royal Conservatory of Liège
Patrick Davin studied at the Royal Music Conservatory of Liège, learning everything from the violin to harmony, before deciding to pursue orchestral conducting. He soon started to perform abroad, in France, Italy, Germany and China. Mr Davin was then appointed conductor of the Ensemble Modern of Frankfurt, the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Itinéraire, the Nieuw Sinfonietta, and the Klangforum of Vienna.
Patrick has three fields of predilection: contemporary creation, opera, and 19th and 20th century French music, and has worked with prestigious figures throughout Europe in all three areas.
A former professor of orchestral conducting at the Royal Musical Conservatory of Liège, he is currently active at Brussels Conservatory. His latest project is to form a collective of orchestral musicians to perform symphonic concerts of ancient music.
He will never cease exploring music in all its diversity and introducing it to the public. |
