Dr. Jérôme Cornil

Jérôme Cornil was born in Charleroi. He studied chemical sciences at the University of Mons-Hainaut and gained the official ‘congratulations of the jury’ for his degree. When he defended his doctoral thesis in 1996, he again earned the official ‘congratulations of the jury.’ He went on to conduct post-doctoral studies at the Institute for Polymers and Organic Solids at the University of California and in the Chemistry Department of the University of Arizona.
Cornil’s work focuses on the characterization, through quantum chemistry, of the electronic and optical properties of organic materials. He is now engaged in FNRS-funded research at the University of Mons-Hainaut and is also the Principal Guest Researcher at Georgia Institute of Technology.
The results of his research have already earned him two commercial patents.
The author of over 200 publications, Jérôme has furthermore participated as a speaker at over 90 conferences. |
