Jacques Delcuvellerie
Royal Conservatory of Liège
For the past thirty odd years, Jacques Delcuvellerie has been invigorating the Belgian theatrical landscape with demanding, original, and successful works.
Born in France, Jacques Delcuvellerie studied fine arts and social communication before graduating from INSAS in Brussels.
An author, playwright and director, he has been associated with the Théâtre National Communauté Française de Belgique since 2007. He is best known for being the founder and artistic director of Groupov, a collective devoted to artistic research and an active experimental cultural centre. He also won worldwide renown with Rwanda 94, a play that shocked audiences by starkly demonstrating the mechanisms of genocide.
As well as working for radio and television, Mr Delcuvellerie has taught at INSAS and the Royal Conservatory of Liège, where he created “The Studio”, a locus of experimental teaching. |
