Signing of Winner´s Book
by Liliana Hernández Patiño
Secretary General World Cultural Council
A very good evening to the distinguished members of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, honorable guests from various latitudes who are with us tonight, the representative of the diplomatic corps, ladies and gentlemen.
I am most honored to present Winners’ Book to you tonight. However, I would first like to quote a citizen of Monterrey, Alicia Salinas de Lamadrid, who, in her work "Así pensaba Antoine de Saint-Exupéry" ("Thus thought Antoine de Saint Exupéry") says, "The empire is a creation of the heart. That is why it is good to keep awake the greatest part of the human being. Since the essential food does not come from things, but from the link that binds things together."
The Winners’ Book bears faithful witness to the men and women who keep awake the ways of science, art and education, which lead us back to our true essence.
The pages of this book will, like every year, bear the names of the laureates who are worthy representatives of principles which drive all creation for the good of humankind, turning their effort, dedication and sacrifice into concrete deeds. |
